BiLT ANZ 2019 Conference

I have been coming to BiLT events in Australia for some time and I have always appreciated the knowledge sharing from the Speakers to the social activities.  But what stood out this year for me was the range in who was attending, and this goes beyond the balance of gender diversity, into a healthy mix that represents our greater community

Bluebeam Revu Xcon 2018

My intentions of going to Xcon were to see how the American's are doing things. Seeing that the maturity of Bluebeam users and industry in general in the USA is greater than how we are using the software in Australia, I thought that it would be a good opportunity to learn from the knowing.

Hats off to the BIM community for sharing their experiences, it is estimated that it takes about 20hrs to create a 75min presentation.  It’s the reward after your presentation of your peers shaking your hand and thanking your for efforts,  that's a feeling can't be bought off iTunes.

Creating a Count in Bluebeam

How is your Bluebeam experience coming along?  Are you using the Bottom Panel?   Have you tried using the Count tool? A great feature, but the Out Of The Box Counting tools are simplistic. So how do you make a counting tool? It's not hard, but I want to share with you some of the little tricks that I have learnt that help improve their appearance and functionality.

Autodesk's Revit, button of Evil.

ou know the option, the one that you pick in space at the top left of your screen, then click and hold the right mouse button and release it on the bottom right of the screen? This is the Selection Window option.  Inverse this, or right to left,? This is the Selection Window option.  Straight forward, right? And you're probably using this tool every day, every hour! But Drag Elements on Selection, is the Achilles heel of this function.

This is a progressive move from the traditional RTC of the past 12 years, the exchange of knowledge needed to broaden and for BIM not be specific to individual Software. The name change is a clear indicator that this is a new direction, so I look forward to watching the expansion of BiLT's BIM coverage.
